"If you want love to flourish,
then you
must do what
nourishes it, and you
must
refrain from doing what
harms it.
Love thrives when
you consent to the world the
way it is, even when it isn’t
how you wish it were."
Bert Helllinger
Bert Hellinger
Bert Hellinger is one of the most influential family practitioners in Europe today. He added new dimensions to the family therapy practice. He discovered new depths, extended perspectives and opened surprising avenues of healing. His understanding of the "laws of love" has helped thousands of people all over the world to step out of "systemic bonding patterns" that kept their lives narrow, with little joy and "little love".
Bert Hellinger studied Philosophy, Theology and Education in Germany. He spent 16 years as a priest with the Zulu in South Africa, learning their language and the basic parameters of interracial group dynamics. After leaving the priesthood he continued his education in Psychoanalysis, Primal and Gestalt Therapy. Later he studied Transactional Analysis, NLP and Hypnotherapy with Milton Erickson. After working as a family therapist for many years he developed the astounding technique of the Family Constellation Work.
Hellinger, now in his mid-eighties is still a popular figure in the therapy community. He lives with his wife in the South of Germany. Sometimes he still guides workshops and teaching seminars. He has more than 20 books and video series to his credit with many of them bestsellers.
